18th Century Inn

The Tiger Inn is Perfectly Located in the Centre of the Bustling Market Town of Bridport, Part of the Jurassic Coast.

Traditional grade 2 listed 18th Century Inn.

We are a family run freehouse serving traditional local ales, ciders, etc. It has two bar areas, two outside courtyard gardens, a vintage style alley bar (check for opening times) and 7 ensuite letting rooms.

As we are right in the town, we do not have a car park most, people park in the council car park in east street, if you drive to the far end, you will find the long stay parking.

Accommodation

All our seven guest bedrooms are bright and airy some with views over the town and surrounding countryside. Breakfast is served between 8.30 and 9.30a.m.

We regret we do not allow pets in the hotel bedrooms.

We have seven rooms, of which two are family rooms that have a king-size bed and a single bed, which sleeps three people.

  • Check in is from 3.00pm
  • Check out is 10.45am

The Market Town of Bridport

Bridport has a twice weekly market on Wednesday and Saturday. We are surrounded by beautiful countryside that is steeped in history and close to the world heritage site Jurassic coast, we are a mile and a half from the beach at west bay. Dorset is a wonderful location for family holidays, countryside and coastal walks, fossil hunting, fishing, angling trips, scuba diving, paragliding, golfing, sailing, wind surfing, paddle boarding, cycling and much more.

Great beer and decent breakfast, quiet road near centre. ☺ Great pub for beer - Camra with lots of real ales and friendly atmosphere. Great shower although water temperature variable. Cooked breakfast very generous and nicely prepared; good cafetiere coffee and lovely big pot of tea. Quiet street near centre for meals (which we knew weren't available at pub). ☹ Breakfast had no fruit fresh or dried, or additions for muesli. Remote control for TV very hard to decipher - and we're both very computer literate! Unable to control volume - it was either muted or loud. Shame room was overlooked so had to keep blinds down.

A real gem. ☺ Excellent local inn with very welcoming staff. The Tiger is primarily a local pub in an excellent location just off the Main Street but at the end of a dead end so virtually no vehicular traffic passes the door. Only a small en suite room with a comfortable bed looking out onto a rear courtyard - room 6. Excellent breakfast laid up downstairs with an interesting choice of dishes. Not the Ritz but for us preferable and wish we had been able to become locals and enjoy the selection of beers available in the bar. A real local pub that Bridport should,d be proud of. ☹ Small local inn where you immediately felt at home.
